We love educational services. Two academics founded Transform-ED looking to translate their experience in learning and teaching to project management-focused way to support others. The work is supported by a cadre of experienced academic colleagues. We still do that, and we will keep doing it.
But education doesn’t only happen in the academic world, so we are branching out to other sectors
A great demand exists for teaching, learning and assessment in other sectors, so we want to be available to support those sectors. We think this will also enrich the educational services support we can offer to the HE sector – so a win-win!
Teaching, learning and assessment is fundamental to achieving high performance in any context and any sector. People need the skills, competencies and behaviours to do their job, and they also need the tools. It makes sense, then, that an investment in providing these things will provide a positive return on the investment. For example, the huge changes AI have brought to education is transforming the way people learning and the way we design educational courses. AI has also transformed (notice the pun 😃) the way courses are quality assurance and assessed. For those interested in the skills for tomorrow – the Future of Jobs report by the World Economic Forum is well worth a read.
Myself, I have worked over several sectors: a varied career working on construction, defence and space projects. Upon joining a new company, a programme of training awaits. Some of it is job specific, some of it is “compliance training”, and some of it role-specific. The first two are often online now, and the third delivered remotely. All three have their challenges!
Since the move to more online working, there is a real skill in joining a hybrid team, and in learning the job in a hybrid way, and delivering handover or training in a hybrid way. Not everyone is a born teacher, or indeed a born learner, so some external support can be useful. Transform-ED is well-placed to deliver educational services to your company (including learning design, course design, staff development and digital learning).
