BIOGRAPHY 


Dr Jenny Gilbert has spent 27 years’ working in faculties of technology, business, and education in five English universities. She has been Head of Department, Teaching and Learning Coordinator and Deputy Dean and has been an external examiner at all HE levels. She is a reviewer for multiple methods of the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and is a Quality Advisor for a private provider of university partnership colleges. 


In addition to internal and external quality assurance and professional body review, she has supported education faculties to raise their Ofsted grades.  She has significant curriculum development experience in the UK and overseas and was recently lead member for a UK university on a four-year European Union TEMPUS project on Modernising Teacher Education in Kosovo.


Dr Jenny Gilbert advises HE providers on quality assurance processes and documentation. Undertakes mock QA reviews in preparation for external inspection.  Supports academics applying for fellowship of Advance HE.  Collaborates with subject experts to generate new curricula.  Together with Simon Pratt-Adam, she has developed a research and action-oriented approach using soft systems methodology and metaphor.  This method can be applied in organisations wishing to model a problem situation from multiple perspectives when attempting to make improvements.
