BIOGRAPHY 


Dr Beatriz Acevedo is an artist and educator passionate about exploring the intersections between creativity and learning and teaching. Beatriz describes her purpose as a Creative Oracle, committed to rekindle creativity in individuals, organisations and communities aiming at developing their relational capacities for sustainable, ethical, and aesthetical transformations.


Beatriz has extensive experience in education in Latin America and the United Kingdom and has been awarded the National Teaching Fellow by Advance HE – 2020. She has worked for more than 25 years in education as a lecturer and academic developer. She has pioneered projects such as Option Colombia and Reunirse in Latin America, creating opportunities for students to work with communities across the sub- continent. In the UK she created GoGreen, connecting students with third sector organisations for active learning and community impact, and RawTag, an art and education for sustainability project connecting art and education.


She has worked as consultant for evaluating social policy and educational projects in Colombia and the Netherlands. In the last four years, Beatriz has developed and applied ideas on Design Thinking for curriculum development roles such as Academic Lead for Employability and Academic Developer of interdisciplinary modules focusing on employability and social enterprise.
